Man found dead inside stream at Dei-Dei

- By Adam Umar

young male person, said to be a driver, was on Sunday found dead inside a stream around Abuja Live Stock Market in Dei-Dei in Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

Residents at the locality said the corpse of the man was found on the rocky stream with a dead snake by its side, raising concerns on what might have killed him.

One of the residents told City News that it was observed that the dead snake found beside his corpse seems to have died much earlier as the corpse of the man appeared fresher.

City News also learnt that the incident was immediately reported at the Police Outpost in the community before the corpse was removed.

Our reporter, who visited the scene, close to the colonial bridge that links Dei-Dei and Dakwa town, saw residents and other passers-by trying to identify the corpse, which was completely covered with a rug with exception of his head, apparently for identification.

When contacted, Zuba Divisional Police Office (DPO), Femi Adelagan, a Deputy Superintendent, who led some policemen to the area for an on-the-spot investigation, confirmed the incidence, adding that investigation on the matter, which he said, had already been classified as un-natural death, is ongoing.

The police chief, however, said the corpse, which has no sign of cut or injury, has since been released to the family of the deceased after identification for burial.
