VC FUD wins gold medal on ethics and leadership
The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa has been honoured by the African Students Union Parliament (ASUP) in recognition and appreciation for her sincere and selfless commitment towards the improvement of the justice sector and immense contribution to Pan-Africanism.
Presenting the award ASUP leadership expressed its appreciation for the great work Bulkachuwa is doing in Nigeria and across Africa especially in the role of mentoring young professionals.
The students described her as a woman of courage and an amazon whose ebullient and remarkable administrative acumen are evident in any office entrusted to her.
Bulkachuwa, while receiving the award dedicated it all members of staff of the Court of Appeal, expressing appreciation to the student organisation.
ASUP is an umbrella body that covers all student unions in 51 member countries with the objective of encouraging cooperation among member states’ students. The Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation yesterday presented a certificate of excellence and a gold medal on ethics and good leadership to the Vice – Chancellor Federal University Dutse, Professor Jibrilla Dahiru Amin.
The award is for being “one of the most responsible heads of higher institutions in Nigeria in 2014 for innovative and ethical stewardship.”
The Executive Director of the centre, Prince Salihu Yakubu, who presented the award, said his team was in the university by the end of last year where it conducted investigation on the VC and the institution generally without the knowledge of the authorities.

interest, integrity and responsibility among others.
In his response, Prof. Amin thanked the centre for deeming him and the university worthy of honor adding that the award is a call to duty and a challenge to do more. He said the Centre’s resolve to fight corruption at higher places and the youthful nature of its members give hope that the fight against corruption and unethical practices shall yield fruits in Nigeria.
