loss of its oil wells.

He said General Buhari will look at how best to “properly compensate the people of Bakassi over the loss of their ancestral land to Cameroon courtesy of International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling”.

Usani spoke during a rally to celebrate General Buhari’s victory.

He said when the president-elect made the promise during his campaign rally in Cross River State, he actually meant it.

“Buhari is a man who does what he says. You are all witnesses to when he was a military head of state for about two years. During that period, he serviced foreign debts and our foreign reserves rose. He recorded achievements which have remained indelible in the history of this country till date. So, his promises to Cross River will be redeemed”, he said.

Usani thanked supporters of the APC for conducting themselves well before, during and after the elections and urged them to do same during the guber polls.

The chairman called on Cross River indigenes, “to vote for the APC in the governorship election next weekend to avoid being in opposition at the federal level”.
