APC’s change won’t be qualitative — Balarabe Musa
Former governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, has said that the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the presidential elections would not bring about qualitative change in the country.
Musa in an interview said APC’s victory over the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was as a result of disenchantment with the PDP for its incompetence and bankruptcy, saying the “APC is just PDP 2.”
“This is what APC took advantage of, and it is just a change, not a qualitative change because the two parties constitute one and the same,” he said.
“APC is just PDP 2, while the real PDP is PDP 1, so PDP 2 has defeated PDP 1. It is a progressive step because it shows that a government that cannot perform can be changed even by another government that is no better.
“So, the change is real but not qualitative because neither APC nor PDP is capable of dealing with the negative state of the nation, particularly this level of corruption, insecurity, unemployment and colossal public services among others.
“It is not surprising that we may face more than we faced under PDP with APC because the situation is deteriorating and there is no evidence of a qualitative leadership. 70% of APC members are decampees from PDP, so what do you expect, there can’t be a qualitative difference,” he reiterated.
