Local or foreign movies: Which do you prefer and why?

Unlike a decade or two ago Nigerians had no choice than to rely on Bollywood and Hollywood for entertainm­ent but with the growth in Nollywood and other indigenous movie industry options now abound With this in mind, YOUTHVILLE conducted a voxpop to know which movie industry people prefer and why.

had this to say: “I prefer foreign movies to home movies, because you hardly see their mistake but there is always a mistake” For

she would rather watch foreign movies because “there would be no need of waiting for part 1&2 which at times can be difficult to be found”, she said.

According to “its foreign movies because you can’t predict the end but local ones, the end is very predictabl­e, especially yoruba movies”

said: “I prefer foreign movies because the moment I watch a local movie for some seconds, I will know how the movie will end but most foreign movies are unpredicta­ble”.

Then added: “Our movie industry has come of age, but a lot needs to be done to upgrade the standard. I am still on foreign movies”.

from Jos opined that he loves foreign movies because “the final product shows growth and inventions of filmatogra­phy and style which tells you one thing: they put so much work to a particular project and make sure it’s close to perfection before they get it out to the market”

On his part, added: “Till the day local movies shift from predictabl­e plots, poor dialogue & crappy cinematogr­aphy, I’ll continue to be partial to foreign movies. For goodness sake, how can you shoot a man in the leg and cause blood to immediatel­y gush out from the mouth?? Haba Jama’a”.
