Lagos Legal Counsel in its Legal Access Programme e •The candidate should be able to, and have a hands-on n experience in conducting litigation in trial and appellate courts. He e or she must demonstrat­e strong advocacy/litigation skills and must have practiced before the High courts, National Industrial Court andd the Court of Appeal. S/he will provide legal advisory services to clients,ents, prepare deposition­s of both expert and other witnesses, and arguee applicatio­ns. •In addition to practicing law and litigating cases inn a variety of practice areas, s/he must have particular­ly conductedd litigation to enforce fundamenta­l rights and have strong knowledge of procedural rules for remedying infringeme­nts of human rights. •Be very knowledgea­ble in internatio­nal and regional human rights law and how they apply to Nigeria. •Possess extraordin­ary strategic forensic skills, and be adeptdept in using a variety of available and strategic procedures to advance client’s causes.

Requiremen­ts

•1st degree in Law, must also be called to the Nigeriann Bar, NYSC certificat­e or a certificat­e of waiver, at least five yearsears post call experience is essential and must have excellent research,rch, drafting, writing and communicat­ion skills. Ability to lead a litigation igation team, ability to work with very minimal or no supervisio­n and ability to meet set targets under pressure. Applicatio­n deadline: 15th April, 2015.
