APC will win Kogi governorship election – Ocheje

- From Usman A. Bello, Lokoja

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheje, said the party would win the forthcoming governorship election in October this year.

Ibrahim who stated this yesterday in Lokoja, said based on the result of the presidential election/National Assembly election which the APC won and the recent State Assembly election in which the APC won 11 seats the party would coast to victory without stress.

He said the areas APC won elections are where more than two third of the state population resides, adding that they are still areas for APC to win the governorship election.

“APC won Ankpa 1 and 2, Dekina 1 and 2, Okene, Lokoja/Koto, Olamaboro, Ofu and Ajaokuta. Can we compare the voters in Ofu with Yagba West and East put together? In Mopamoro, how many votes are there? And Ogirimagongo has a Local Government with one House of Assembly member but Wada’s election recorded 3,000 voters in the entire local government,” he said.

He said the governor is a neophyte in politics having spent less than four years, adding that he lost election even in his ward and local government because there are too many fake people surrounding him who are not on ground.

“Last time I advised him to join the APC before it is too late, changing his cabinet is something else because what the cabinet members needed they have achieved but has the governor achieved what he wanted from them?
