Ex-minister tasks Kogi lawmakers on service delivery
Former minister of justice, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrhaim (SAN) has urged elected representatives from Kogi East in the National Assembly to brace up for the task of nation building and reciprocate the mandate given them by their constituents through quality representation.
Ibrahim, who was also minister of transport and aviation and later minister of education, science and technology, gave the advice at a reception for Senator Abdulrahaman Abubakar (APC Kogi East) and Rep Hassan Atayoma Omale (APC) the member representing Ankpa/Olamaboro/Omala constituency in the House of Representatives, organised by the Ojoku District Development Association yesterday in Abuja.
The former minister who described the legislature as the pillar of democratic governance, said the era of complacency by elected representatives is over, and warned of the consequences of such acts.
“As representatives of the people you must be honest, fear God and be dedicated to the mandate which the people gave to you because that is the only way you can protect your mandate and be re-elected subsequently,” he said.
Chairman of the organising committee of the association, Alhaji Khalid Adamu, while calling on the legislators to take the call to service serious, urged them to attract projects.
