Bayelsa 2016: Groups in war of words over Dickson
Two Political groups in Bayelsa State, the Ijaw Renaissance Group, and Bayelsa Peoples Consultative Assembly are trading words on the performance of the state governor, Seriake Dickson.
While the Bayelsa Peoples Consultative Assembly described the administration of Dickson as “sad and an era of gloom”, the Ijaw Renaissance Group, said the opposition has recruited a “special squad and experts in false propaganda, blackmail and falsehood to discredit the achievements of Governor Henry Seraike Dickson.”
The Bayelsa Peoples’ Consultative Assembly made up of Bayelsa elders in a statement issued in Yenagoa yesterday noted that the present administration has succeeded in making Bayelsans stagnant rather than enjoy what as citizens they should have.
“We have decided that the time for change has come and so we have made up our minds to align ourselves with a platform where we can effect that change in the forthcoming governorship election”, the group said.
Chairman of the group Senator John Brambayefa, said the meeting of the elders was the first step towards achieving their aim, adding, “a fourteen member committee has been instituted to work out modalities for us to fully join the All Progressives Congress, APC.”
The IRGroup on is part accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of sponsoring the group of politicians and elders to discredit the state government and its achievements.
