Group cautions Bauchi leaders against overheating polity

- From Ahmed Mohammed, Bauchi

Bauchi branch of Credible Alternative Alliance (CAA), a Non-governmental Organization has drawn the attention of Bauchi leaders on the need to bury their political differences and strategize to provide the required services needed in the interest of the people.

In a press release signed by Sanusi Muhammad, it was stated that trading allegations between leaders and use of vulgar language is not in the best interest of the state to be supported.

He said instead of allegations and accusations, what the state needs is unquantifiable service tailored to improving the welfare of the people no matter the hard situation as governor Abubakar is striving to achieve.

“The recent attack on the person of Bauchi State governor by his predecessor is uncalled for. Instead of the attack, there are several ways to strengthen the records of bequeathed debt, theft of public properties, revocation of allocated plots etc without raising eyebrow. The governor though at liberty with executive power to state the obvious for posterity, should be cautious with his media utterances especially on the stewardship of his predecessor and documented records”, he said

Muhammad observed that ridiculing past leaders is fast becoming a culture in Bauchi state which snowballs into hatred and enmity that should not be allowed to thrive, “Ahmed Mu’azu was ridiculed and now Yuguda is in the box to defend his stewardship. Next may be the present governor when his time of exit comes. Bauchi needs sanity to forge ahead than diversion to unnecessary mudslinging. The governor is at liberty to probe the past, retrieve identified stolen monies and properties while the past is equally at liberty to defend its stewardship but that should not be done in a market square”, he opined.
