Youth unemployment: ‘Learn skills, develop your talents to grow’

-

Why didn’t you go in search of a job but resorted to self employment? The beginning of every great story is not always easy. My early comedy days were not too nice because people could hardly believe in me because of my size but my major takeoff in Abuja started with my excellent performance at major and great concerts around the country. I felt it wasn’t pressing to look for job to grow the talent in me.

I have since then strive to get inspirations to see a joke in everything rything that happens around me. Theree are many sources of inspiration n for comedy but it takes the divine e inspiration to make people not t just temporarily happy but add a permanent joy to their life.

I am presently a guest presenterer on 99.5 Wazobia FM every Friday ay morning and on 96.9 Cool Fm, m, Saturday morning.

Do you have challenges at present in your chosen business?

The major challenge does not lie on making the world know the stuff uff you are made of, but in getting thehe chance to project to the world the he stuff you are made of. For instance,ce, clients do not give the up-comingng artiste a chance but rather patronize the already-established ones. So getting people to believe me for their event is always a challenge.

How are you constraint?

Excellence is not an event but a lifestyle. I was determined long time ago to grab opportunities to do my job while displaying an excellent lifestyle. This is working nicely although there is still a whole lot to be done in that regard.

What is your advice to youths on self reliance?

The glory of the youths lies in their strength. We can deploy our restiveness into something meaningful and

overcoming

this productive. Every y youth youuth has got a talent which they need to discover, , develop deveelop and display it. They can achievea achieve this by getting more skills,s skills, attending seminnars, seminars, tutorials and developing evelopiing their talents. Moreore soo, so, youth who craveve forr for self-reliance could startt by having a productive mentor.

Do you see government doing well in empowering youths? Yes, I believe government is doing within its powers to empower yo youth. However, with th the situation of the countryc worsening eache day, government efforts alone are not enough; youths need to do something for themselves and that has become a clarion call to every youth.

How do you draw p public attention to what you do?

I employ every platform available to showcase my talent. Whether free or hired, whichever way it comes I just make

all sure that my work and masterpieces are continually set before the public. I use most of the social platforms like twitter, @ChuksDGeneral, facebook, Chuks D General, Instagram, @ChuksDGeneral, and Whatsapp. I also do shows presented on radio and television too.

What should your fans expect from you shortly?

My exceptional ways of hosting events are really winning me massive audience acceptance nationwide. My name is gradually hitting the big screen especially with my features in popular comedy shows like the Night of a 1000 Laughs, Comedy Overdose, Iyanya Desire Concert, AY Live among others.

For what to expect, I am like a moving ship, God is the Lord of the ship and I have decided to submit to his lordship for the best of me is yet to come.
