Students in one of the public schools in Abuja are setting the pace for learning by fun around their environment as they display their pageantry, and productive skills recently to mark the Children’s Day.
Community Staff Secondary School, Asokoro (CSSA) held their 2015 Junior Achievement Day to celebrate the Day with applausive attendants from parents, guardians and other members of the public.
The Junior Achievement Club is part of a larger network meant “to build a bridge between classroom and workplace and to inspire young people to become good business leaders,” said a coordinator, Mrs. Akinlo Rachael.
The event which integrated performances by both students from the junior and senior schools saw several participants winning cash prizes at the “Who Wants to be a Thousandnaire” game show as enviable array of skills and talents displayed flood the arena.
Egbodor Collins who played a piece from the cannon classical playlist on his piano, for the talent show said it is not enough for students to be academically groomed. “They also need to learn a skill or vocation,” he said. For him, mastering the piano was no easy feat but with constant practice and a motherly support, he is excelling.
