Maitama Sule, Sanusi urge leaders to rule well
Elder statesman and the Danmasanin Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule, has urged leaders in the country to desist from politics of vengeance and vendetta.
Speaking on the 100 days anniversary of Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s administration yesterday, Sule warned that leaders should not wash their dirty linens in the public, but choose a better way of correcting one another.
He said: “We should better tell one another the truth among ourselves and not destroy one another in public. Two wrongs do not make a right.”
Sule also charged leaders to be just in dealing with their subjects, saying the success of any government is in Justice.
“Justice is the secret of any government. Justice should be done to whosoever deserves it. If there is justice, there will be peace and if there is peace there will be progress and if there is progress, people will be empowered and employed”, he added.
The state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Gnaduje, who reviewed some of his achievements in the 100 days, reiterated the determination of the present administration on continuity.
He said the committee set up by the administration to examine all uncompleted projects had completed work and submitted the report to the government.
Ganduje said all projects started by the former administration would be completed adding that already, contractors had returned to the sites of some of the projects.
He said: “So far roads started by the administration have completed and ready commissioning.”
The emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sunusi ll, charged leaders to always fear God in their dealings with people, saying “we have very limited time, four or eight years will soon pass and therefore we should try and do the right thing to our people as leaders.”
