Bauchi to focus on priority areas

The Bauchi State government has outlined priority areas in order to face the challenges facing the state and fulfill electoral promises.

This was contained in address by the governor of the state, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar to mark the first 100 days in office.

“We have marked the 100 days since we took the oath of commitment to work assiduousl­y for the progress of Bauchi State and its people to the fullest’”he said.

He added that although 100 days is short, it is a milestone for strategic focus for governance which will be gauged on the scale of intent and action.

The governor said since he took the oath of office, his administra­tion had not looked back on its promise to restore the dignity of the state and enhance the living conditions of its people.

“The reigns handed to us by the previous administra­tion were no doubt replete with massive profligacy with state resources, wanton disregard of laid down administra­tive processes and crass nepotism in undertakin­g general governance duties,”he added.

He said his administra­tion would embark on a massive overhaul and re-structurin­g in all sectors by adopting the report it received from its main Transition and Technical Committees.

He said the documents submitted by the committees have enriched the strategic focus of the government to attain an educationa­lly enhanced, economical­ly advanced and constructi­vely vigilant population.

He said that his government has apart from recovering vehicles and plots of lands by its assets recovery committee has also recovered an Aircraft, ‘Embraer 145’ belonging to the state which will soon be returned to the state from Morocco.
