Inculcate good values in children – Gaidam

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State says the task of developing the state is a collective responsibi­lity which requires the support and cooperatio­n of everyone in the state.

The governor said in his message to the people to mark the Eid-elKabir: “I commend the people of our state for their unflinchin­g support for our administra­tion. I enjoin all of us to pitch in and support our collective effort to ensure rapid developmen­t of the state”.

In the message signed by his Director of Press Affairs, Malam Abdullahi Bego, the governor who said the Eid-el-Kabir festival symbolises the spirit of sacrifice and submission to the will of God, called on the people to inculcate in their children, the values of love, honesty and discipline.

“The occasion also teaches us to take into considerat­ion, the general well-being of the poor, orphans and the less privileged…We should always make sure we live in peace with followers of other religions”, he said.

The governor also urged the people to sustain their support for security agencies and continue to pray to Almighty God to ensure lasting peace.

“Of recent, Yobe State has passed through some difficult periods as a result of serious challenges of insurgency…We thank Almighty Allah (SWT) that due to His infinite mercy and our relentless prayers, peace has been restored in Damaturu and other parts of the state. I appeal to all our citizens to continue to pray for peace”, Gaidam said.
