Police beef up security in Benue
The police in Benue State say have beefed up security to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration today.
State Commissioner of Police, Paul Dibal Yakadi, told newsmen in Makurdi that adequate measures had been in place to avert any break down of law and order.
“We have taken adequate measure to ensure that the laws of the land are not broken so that people can enjoy peace and tranquillity during the Sallah celebration,” he said.
Yakadi added that enough policemen had been deployed to all parts of the state, especially at flash points to contain any eventuality. He said foot patrol policemen alongside security vehicle patrols had also been dispatched to various locations. The commissioner warned that the command would not tolerate any act capable of disrupting public peace.
