Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abubakar has called on residents of the state to live in peace and avoid anything that will cause problem.

He stated this in his Eid-el Kabir message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Yakubu Ibn Mohammed.

He stressed the need for a committed relationship with Allah.

He said: “Joyous as this occasion is, it also gives us an opportunity to do some soul searching with a view to improving the relationships between us and the Almighty Allah on one hand and that between us and our fellow humans on the other. This in addition to the symbolism of sacrifice is part of the essence of Eid-Kabir. For us in Bauchi, It is very significant as it is coming at a time when all hands are required to be on deck to rebuild the state from the ashes of a disastrous period of governance”.

Also speaking, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, maintained that peace is necessary for development of any nation. In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Sir Opunabo InkoTariah, the governor congratulated Muslims on the Eid-el-kabir celebration, urging them to always emulate the life style of Prophet Mohammed.

Governor Wike prayed for peace and wisdom in solving the challenges facing the nation, and urged all Muslims to remain peaceful.

Chief Umana Umana also harped on the need for Nigerians to live in peace at all times, noting that there can be no development in an atmosphere of rancour.

In a Sallah message, the All Progressive Congress governorship candidate for Akwa Ibom State, said Nigeria has huge potentials which if tapped will make the country one of the greatest in the world.

He, however, added that such can only be achieved if all Nigerians work together, irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliation.

He congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and all Muslims in Nigeria for being part of this year’s celebration and prayed that they will reap the benefits of the season.

He said festivals like this should be used as a time for sober reflection by leaders of the country, so that they work hard to ensure unity.

He further hailed the president on his anti-corruption war, saying he is optimistic that the fight will cleanse the country of bad eggs and make the country greater in the long run.
