Sallah: Council chairmen preach peace

Area Council chairmen in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have urged residents to go about the Eid-el-Kabir celebratio­n peacefully and moderately.

The council bosses in separate Sallah messages felicitate­d with Muslims during the celebratio­n while they appealed to them to be moderate in their celebratio­ns.

Abaji Area Council boss, Alhaji Yahaya Garba Gawu and his Bwari counterpar­t, Peter Yohanna Ushafa urged residents to continue to live in peace irrespecti­ve of their ethnicity and religion.

Gawu said no society could witness any form of developmen­t without love, peace and harmonious relationsh­ips.

He urged the entire Muslim Ummah to imbibe the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (SAW), as enshrined in the Qur’an while he cautioned youths against engaging in social vices.

On his part Peter Yohanna Ushafa said residents should not do anything that could threaten the peace enjoyed in the territory.
