Agara attributes Team Nigeria’s success to Buhari
The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Hon. Silas Agara has attributed the impressive outing of Team Nigeria at the just concluded All Africa games in Congo to President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement released yesterday, the former Commissioner of Sports in Nasarawa State said Team Nigeria’s successes at the games which place it second behind Egypt is no doubt a reflection of the change era brought about by the Buhari’s Administration.
He said the administration has achieved much in sports in just three months in office, a feat that had eluded the nation since the history of the games in addition to D’ Tigers’ exploit at the recent Afro Basket Ball Championship in Senegal where they emerged victorious for the first time in the 50 years history of the Championship.
Agara also felicitated with the Director General, National Sports Commission, Mr. AlhassanYakmut and the Nigerian contingents for making the nation proud during their time.
The Deputy Governor therefore urged the National Sports Commission to commence early preparation for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil to avoid the usual fire brigade approach of the past.
The sports administrator who advised the athletes to shun banned drugs charged them to redouble their efforts in order to excel at future competitions.
