Hisba Board to prosecute tricycle operators over indecent dressing

-

The Kano State Hisba Board has threatened to arrest any commercial tricycle operator who wears ‘three quarter trousers’ and armless T-shirts during the Eid el-Kabir celebrations.

The Public Relations Officer of the board, Alhaji Mohammed Yola, said this in an interview with newsmen in Kano on Wednesday.

He said anyone caught in such attire would be arrested and prosecuted in order to serve as a deterrent to others.

‘’The board will this time around arrest any youth, especially commercial tricycle operators, who are in the habit of wearing indecent dresses during Sallah (festival) .We will not allow such persons to dress anyhow they like as it is against the Sharia,’’ he said.

Yola also warned those in the habit of making ‘Balitoli’ (foreign) hairstyles to desist from doing so or risk being arrested and prosecuted.

He said such dressing styles have tendency of seducing female passengers in tricycles in the state.

Yola said the board deployed its operatives to various recreational centres in the city to ensure that their activities were properly monitored.

“We have also directed all the Hisba commanders across the 44 local government areas in the state to ensure total compliance with the order,’’ he said. (NAN)
