Zuba monarch tasks residents on peace
The Agora of Zuba, Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federl Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Muhammad Bello Umar, yesterday called on the people living in his chiefdom to live peacefully with one another to engender meaningful development.
Bello, who made the call when he was addressing the Muslim community at Zuba Eid praying ground after observing the two Raka’at prayers to mark the Eidel-Kabir, lamented the current insecurity being experienced in some parts of northern Nigeria.
He said that Zuba chiefdom has always hosted people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds, adding that the issue of indigene- settler will never arise in his domain.
He urged Muslims to use the occasion of the celebration to pray for the peaceful co-existence among the residents of the council, adding that no meaningful development could be achieved in an atmosphere characterized by rancour.
According to him, no society can develop when there is no peace, love and harmonious relationship amongst the people, irrespective of their ethnicity and religion.
“And I believe that by the time we come together to embrace one another irrespective of our religious and ethnic differences, the country shall be better for it,” he said.
The two Raka’at prayers were held at the Zuba Central Mosque due to the heavy downpour in the area.
