Independence: NOA urges support for Buhari

- From Itodo Daniel Sule, Lokoja

Kogi State Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Chief Ibikunle Medubi, yesterday called on Nigerians to support the government of President Muhammed Buhari and other leaders in their quests to positively turn around the fortune of the country for the good of the citizenry.

Ibikunle, who addressed stakeholders in Lokoja, during an interactive forum on promoting national unity and security, said no nation can achieve its desired development without the citizens support to leaders.

Ibikunle, who pointed out that promoting national unity and security is the responsibility of individuals and governments, noted that as patriotic citizens, it is incumbent on all Nigerians to focus on things that will unite the country and shun all divisive tendencies.

“Let me state that in promoting national unity and security, individual Nigerians must demonstrate tolerance for other people, shun biases and stereotypes, avoid discrimination based on language, religion and ethnicity that cannot move us forward as a nation. Nigerians should not lose hope in the country, but be hopeful, positive and patriotic, considering its enormous potentials”, he said.

While congratulating people of the state on the 55th anniversary of the nation’s independence, the NOA boss stated that the agency strongly believes that the celebration is worth it despite the various socio-economic, political and security challenges facing the nation.
