TEAM OF THE WEEK
highlight being his cross for Andy Carroll’s winner.
MD: Sergio Busquets (Barcelona). Another impressive display from the La Masia graduate who bossed the midfield throughout the game as the Blaugrana overcame newcomers Eibar in the Primera Liga.
MD: Mesut Ozil (Arsenal). Ozil is a fabulous footballer and one of the reasons the Gunners are having success at the moment. Against Everton he was sensational and just waltzed through the game.
RW: Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich). Looking for a record-breaking 1000th Bundesliga win in the competition’s 53 years of existence and Robben made it happen by opening the
scoring with a superb strike.
LW: Ethan Finlay (Columbus Crew). Finlay bagged two goals in one minute to put the decisive touch on Crew SC’s dominating 5-0 victory against D.C. The only negative? He was stoned by Bill Hamid in stoppage time, denying his bid for a hat trick.
FW: Harry Kane (Tottenham). Kane had only scored one league goal this season prior to the game against Bournemouth but a hattrick against the Cherries has put that particular stat to bed as the striker came off to a standing ovation.
FW: Pierre Aubameyang (Borrusia Dortmund). Aubameyang got his first hat-trick of the league campaign last week and has been crucial to Tuchel’s newlook Dortmund, scoring or assisting in every game he’s played.
