SWAN salutes Bewarang, Agu appointment
The North Central Zone of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated Coach Bitrus Bewarang and Alloy Agu on their recent appointment as the Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and goalkeeper trainer of the Super Eagles respectively.
The association, in a statement signed by its North Central Zone secretary, Jude Opara, said the duo possess the credentials and qualities to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
While commending the NFF for these appointments, SWAN also urged the Federation to ensure that they provide conducive environment for the appointees to discharge their duties diligently. “The era when coaches are hired without proper plan of how to pay their salaries and allowances should be a thing of the past.
“The North Central Zone of SWAN is therefore proud to note that these two gentlemen who can stand out as one of the best the country can boast of are presently operating in the zone and this also underlines the fact that in the nearest future, this zone will be the hob of sports in the country,” the statement said.
Bewarang, an exinternational from Pankshin in Plateau State, was before his appointment was the president of the Nigeria Coaches Association. He had at one time or the other served as an Assistant Coach of the Super Eagles, Technical Adviser of the National U-23 and U-20 teams.
