Daily Trust

Letter to the Editor

-

Iintended to let my pen rest for a while till the Sallah festivities are over, but I was forced to change my mind due to the provocative, nondirectional piece titled “Detractors and Governor Abubakar” written on the Daily Trust newspaper dated 11th September, 2016 by one Abuja based Ahmad Mahmoud Konkiyel. The piece is full of blatant lies and baseless allegations in defense of his Bauchi state governor Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.

Though, Mahmoud who perplexed by many conflicting and contradictory statements failed to cited a single developmental project brought by his top-dog apart from a three kilometers road he is constructing over six months but not reached half talk less of completion. Out of shame he continued to point accusing fingers on the reps, senators and other dignitaries of Bauchi APC whom he sees as the enemies of the state’s prosperity. Let me tell you that your master is the number one enemy of our dear state. For example, the governor’s inability to pay workers salary weakens and paralyzed lives of Bauchi populace in which many cannot eat twice a day. Only 19% of them afford to buy rams for the Eid el Adha. He mismanaged the bail-out given to him, disrespecting and scraping hundreds newly appointed ward heads and district heads, suppressing of critics and declaring a total war against the freedom of expression.

This is the governor who rejected and stopped Right Honourable Yakubu Dogara conducting a free eye treatment in Tafawa Balewa. He did the same to the Distinguished Senators; Ali Wakili and Sulaiman Nazif Gamawa. This man doesn’t accept positive advice at all. It is true that governor Abubakar cannot pleases everybody but why not majority or even two-thirds? He is in fight with everybody; masses, politicians, civil servants, traditional rulers, who else remain? Disabled or physically challenged?

M. A. Abubakar has no blue-print of his administration. The state is moving in the wrong direction, he lost the compass to guide him. People are divorcing APC in daily basis due to irregularities and his habits. Honestly, Bauchi state is in chaos and anarchy. Everybody is confused. No security at all as we have witnessed Sara-Suka thugs believed to be hired by some close allies of the governor in order to disrupt the venue of distribution of relief materials given by Senator Nazif Gamawa in Azare town. No social amenities and other evidence of democracy. I am advising him to wake up from his long lethargy and cooperate with his fellow politicians if he really wants to make our state great. Showoff, bragging, pretension and enmity with them will never ever be the best solution. God bless APC, God bless Bauchi state, God bless Nigeria!
