Abaji chairman’s cabinet members to emerge this week
There are strong indications that the Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, will appoint members of his cabinet this week.
City News gathered that the chairman had already submitted the names of nominated members to the legislative arm of the council for screening, through the secretary of the council, Alhaji Kamal Adamu Shuaibu.
Findings have revealed that the cabinet members were picked from across the 10 wards of the council. They are Victoria Alabi, representing Nuku/Sabon Ward, Suleiman Ghali, South/East, Alhaji Suleiman Anguss, North East and Alhaji Isyaku, Yaba.
Others were, Usman Wodi, representing Rimba/Ebagi Ward, Adamu Mohammed Loko, Central, Alhaji Salihu Kakamba, South/East, Mr Sylvester N. Igbo community, Shanka Umar, Gawu, Umar Agyana, Pandagi/Agyana and Ibrahim Tauheed, Alu/ Mamagi.
Our reporter gathered that a chairmanship aspirant in the last council election, Isa Maka, may be appointed as the chief of staff to the council’s chairman, as his name was included among those to be screened this week.
A member of the legislative arm, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the names to our reporter, saying that the cabinet members would be formally announced to the public shortly after they have been screened.
It was learnt that the council chairman may announce the cabinet members’ portfolios on the day of their inauguration.
