Keffi polo ranch is design for development, employment - Wadada
A two term former member of the House of Representative from Nasarawa state, Alhaji Ahmed Wadada has built a multi-million naira polo ranch with international facilities in order to boost sporting and socioeconomic activities of the state.
Wadada, who contested a senatorial seat in the 2015 general election for the Nasarawa West senatorial zone made this known in a chat with newsmen during the maiden Keffi Polo Ranch tournament in Keffi, noted that sport is a valuable tool for national integration and peaceful coexistence.
Wadada said that he initiated the project towards bringing development and civilization closer to the people of the state as well as to create employment opportunities to the people.
“The importance of sports like polo cannot be over-emphasized to the development of any society because beyond physical wellbeing, sport is a valuable tool for national and international integration,” he said.
Wadada explained that “Polo is a game of kings and it is also the king of all games and as we are all aware that sports can help in bridging the cultural, ethnic, religious and political divides, promote tolerance, peace, create jobs, reinforce social integration and advocates healthy life style among others.
“As you can see, the 2016 maiden Keffi Polo Ranch had brought together polo players, umpires, spectators among others from within and outside the country due to the importance of the game to the socioeconomic development of the world.”
Wadada has also disclosed that whatever money accruable at the end of every tournament, certain percent would be channeled to education of the less privileged members of the society through the Wadada Education Foundation.
