PTAD names 5 acting directors
The Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) Barrister Sharon Ikeazor has confirmed the sack of five directors last Friday over employment irregularities.
Ikeazor, at a media briefing held in Abuja yesterday, announced the names of new acting directors as Charles Wali (Parastatal Pension Department); Dogo Williams (Civil Service Pension Department); Ada Phil-Ugochukwu (Pension Support Services Department); Ahmed Ekpolomo (Customs, Immigration and Prison’s Department) and Sulayman Shelleng (Police Pension Department).
The new acting directors replaced the following sacked directors: Godson Ukpevo (Civil Service Pension Department); Uloma Uruakpa (Customs, Immigration and Prison’s Department): Taiwo Ogundipe (Parastatal Department); Atiku Dambatta (Police Pension Department) and Roz BenOkagbue (Pension Support Services Department).
Barrister Ikeazor said the sacked directors were employed at over 50 years of age against the civil service rule that stated that no one above 50 years should be employed in a regular position.
The latest confirmation validated Daily Trust’s story published yesterday on the sack of the directors and redeployment of some staff.
The PTAD boss said the new acting directors will be in charge pending when substantive ones will take over.
She also confirmed that some staff of the directorate had been redeployed to the office of the Account General of the Federation while new ones had been taken in for secondment.
She said the implementation of the audit report that led to the sack of the directors was still ongoing and if it was established that the Federal Government had been shortchanged, the culprits would be prosecuted.
