- From Risikat Ramoni, Lagos

The Head, Legal and Public Relations, Promasidor Nigeria, Mr. Andrew Enahoro, has identified healthy environment as recipe for business growth. He urged corporate organizations to collaborate with government and host communities to achieve environment that is free from pollution.

Enahoro who gave the advice in Lagos while addressing journalists, urged the organizations to keep to regulations on healthy environment as well as adhere to environmental laws in order to thrive.

“There is need for all organisations to comply with their state environmental regulations and standards, thereby contributing to carbon reduction in the environment through mitigated measures against global warming and climate change,” he added.

The Managing Director of the company, Mr. Olivier Thiry, enjoined companies to use diesel so as to reduce the dangers of diesel exhaust, stressing that various health hazards caused by air pollution would be averted.

The General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of LASEPA, Mr. Adebola Rasheed Shabi, reiterated that sustaining the sanctity of the environment through commitment to tree planting must be a collective responsibility.

On the environmental benefits of tree planting, Shabi said they could reduce air temperature by blocking sunlight and lead to the conversion of water to air vapour, a chemical process that removes heat energy from the air.
