Olatunbosun confident MFM will beat Warriors to reclaim top spot

- By David Ngobua

@Ngobuadavid MFM attacker, Sikiru Olatunbosun has expressed confidence that his side will beat visiting Abia Warriors in their week 16 encounter today to reclaim leadership of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

MFM dropped from the summit of the league when they suffered a 0-1 defeat at Gombe United last Sunday.

In a chat with Daily Trust yesterday, Olatunbosun said there won’t be a repeat of what happened last season when Abia Warriors left Lagos with a point.

The player whose goal against Enugu Rangers was voted CNN goal of the week, maintained that MFM will go for the maximum points in order to return to the summit of the NPFL.

Olatunbosun reiterated that the match is a must win one for his side so Abia Warriors should not think of getting anything from the tie.

“I want to say that there will be no hiding place for Abia Warriors in tomorrow’s (today) match. They are going to surrender the three points to us.

“We want to return to the top of the table so we shall do everything possible to pick the three points.

“Our loss at Gombe United ensured we dropped from the top of the table but we are confident we would climb back after our victory over Abia Warriors,” he assured.

Olatunbosun also attributed MFM’s excellent run in the season to unity in the team.

He said the players and officials of the team are working together in order to win their first major trophy.

“What has made us strong is the unity we have in the team. We are just like one united family and that is what is going for us.

“Our mission is clear and we are going to remain focused. We won’t get carried away because the league is like a marathon,” he said.
