- By Ismail Mudashir From Eyo Charles, Calabar

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has said that he will no longer be frustrated by those in power at the federal level because he decided to play the fool. The governor has not been in good terms with some politicians from his state A former commissioner in Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba, has called on the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba, to mobilise workers in the country to support the whistle blower policy of President Muhammadu who are now holding some appointments at the centre.

Speaking when he received a delegation from the Nigeria Export Processing Zones, led by its new Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Jime, Ayade said all those that “decidedly frustrated and blocked approvals” for his projects would also die.

According to him, “I am happy that you are all from the Federal Government and you will help me deliver this message.

“Each time when I ponder Buhari.

Garba, popularly known as IG, said the only way to actualise the agitation of the labour union for salary increment was for workers to key into the whistle blower policy by blocking loopholes in the expenditure of government.

The NLC had been agitating for upward review over actions of those in authority blocking my efforts, I conclude that after all there is death.

“You, (without mentioning names), who is sitting in that position frustrating Cross River State, one day you too will die; nothing lives forever,” he said.

He said it was wrong for the Federal Government to frustrate his government by not giving approval to some of his showcase projects, including a super highway. of the national minimum wage of N18, 000 to reflect current economic reality in the country.

“No money is stolen without the civil servants or workers knowing; they play a key role in this and for us to succeed in the fight against corruption, they must be part of the fight for the country to succeed.

“If workers in charge of the treasury, accounts and others decline to be part of the deals, the level of corruption in the country would reduce drastically,” IG said.

He also expressed dismay at the way high profile corruption cases were being treated, lamenting that there was no big politician in prison.
