We’ll jail those who dupe our candidates – JAMB
The management of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said it will bring to justice all those who use its annual Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to dupe prospective candidates.
The examination body’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Dr. Fabian Benjamin made the vow in a chat with journalists in Lagos, saying JAMB understood the importance of having in place a credible entrance examination to the nation’s
tertiary institutions and would protect the sanctity and dignity of its examinations.
“Court trials of suspected fraudsters are to prove that we are not joking about this at all. Many will go to jail, I am sure,” Benjamin said.
Benjamin said the greed to make quick money had been responsible for ‘the callous approach often adopted by fraudsters’ to dupe candidates, and advised members of the public to deal with only JAMB accredited persons and establishments.
