Assembly urges communities to vacate flood-prone areas
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has called on the citizens living in flood-prone areas to leave for safer places.
Speaker of the House, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi who spoke when the member representing Kokona East Daniel Ogazi, moved a motion on the need for the people of the state to take precaution due to weather prediction by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), also advised the residents against indiscriminate dumping of refuse especially on drainages and undesignated sites.
“We are calling on the state ministry of Information to sensitize and educate our people across the state on the danger of flooding so that our people can take precautionary measures against this ugly trend,” the speaker said.
