Our priority is to build FCT institutions — Minister
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello said his administration has been working to strengthen various institutions in Abuja in the past two years.
Bello disclosed this yesterday when he received a delegation from Media Trust Limited, publishers of the Trust titles, led by its Editor-In-Chief/CEO, Malam Mannir Dan-Ali.
The Minister said he has made his office accessible to the public, so that more people can be part of running Abuja.
While highlighting the achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration in the last two years, Bello said “What we have tried to do within the two years of this administration in the FCT is to strengthen the institutions, to enable them do what they are statutorily created for without the overbearing influence of a minister, because the minister will just come and go but institutions are supposed to be there.”
He noted areas that his office accorded priority to include, maintenance of street lights and protecting them and other public assets from vandalism.
The minister however appealed to members of the public to contribute in safeguarding utilities, so the city and its environs can grow.
He commended the delegation, while urging the media outfit to stick to its core values.
