2019: Buhari group appoints coordinators in South West
Supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari, under the aegis of Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO), yesterday, inaugurated the South West regional office in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The group also appointed coordinators for the six states in the region.
Speaking at the event, National Coordinator of the organisation, Alhaji Danladi Pasali, in his opening remarks, acknowledged the role played by the South West in ensuring the emergence of Buhari in 2015.
Pasali said: “We all know that the birthplace of this organisation is here; it was nursed and brought up here. So what we are seeing today is part of your legacy that has been set for the nation in support of our president, whose pious mind is to reshape Nigerians from all forms of unpatriotic activities and set the country for a proper and realistic system so that the future of our next generation would be guaranteed.”
Speaking on the health of the president, Pasali said, “His tremendous recovery must be celebrated by giving glory to God. We would continue to pray for his safe return.”
He said part of the agenda of BCO was to assist peasant farmers to register so that they could get direct loans from CBN and other farming inputs.
In his remarks, Alhaji Ahmed Ajibade, a high chief in Ibadan, who is also the patron of the organisation, said even if Buhari was not able to go out to campaign, the organisation would spearhead it to ensure his victory.
Some top members of BCO that attended the event included Dr. Bawa Abdullahi Wase, the Ambassador Plenipotentiary to Qatar; Alhaji Isaka Hassan, founder BCO and member BoT; Alhaji Salami Olagoke and Chief Daniel Omofese among others.
