PDP: Masari making us more popular
The Katsina State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Salisu Majigiri, says the Governor Aminu Masari-led government is fast losing track through his unpopular policies and programmes.
Majigiri, who said this during an interview with Daily Trust, stated that the increasing inadequacies of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was making it easy for the PDP to reclaim power in 2019.
He said the PDP is just waiting to displace the APC because the people are already tired of the new administration, having seen the clear difference in terms of leadership and administrative qualities between the two governments over the years.
He said, “What we are saying is that the APC in Katsina is by the day making our past government more popular and acceptable. Most of our laid down policies were discarded and people are reaping the repercussions.”
He said the Katsina APC lost touch with the electorate through non-provision of basic infrastructure and the cancellation of examination fees among others.
Majigiri, who thanked the party’s supporters for their commitment to reclaiming power, voiced the belief of the Katsina PDP that it has all it takes to celebrate its achievement after laying a solid foundation which the APC government has failed to sustain.
