Lagos Council of NUPENG elects new officers

A subsidiary of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (Engine Lubricant Dealers) yesterday in Ibadan inaugurate­d new executives for the Lagos Council of the union to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years.

The Lagos council of the union, which comprises Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Kwara states, returned the Prince Aladesanmi Ogunleye as the zonal chairman.

Other members of the new executive included the vice zonal chairman, Mr. Olalekan Owolabi; the secretary, Adebayo Samuel; treasurer, Ayobami Adesanya; assistant secretary, Toyin Abojumeji; auditor, Alajiki Saliu and financial secretary Mukadam Jimoh Olusola.

In his acceptance speech, Prince Aladesanmi Ogunleye promised to continue to attend to the welfare of all members, adding that the new executives would ensure all members were carried along in the body’s activities.

He called on the federal government to fish out the people selling oil without registerin­g with the appropriat­e government agencies and punish them according to the law of the land.

The national chairman of the union, Comrade Segun Braimoh urged the new executives to uphold the constituti­on of the union in whatever decision they want to take for the interest of members of the union.
