Andy Uba chides attempts to blackmail him
Senator Andy Uba, frontline contender in the just concluded Anambra APC governorship primary, has denied media reports linking him to an alleged attempt to compromise the APC NWC.
In a release signed by his aide, Dr. Onwuchekwa Okeke, Uba has said he has always been driven by an honest desire to serve and to impact positively on the lives of his people.
Uba said he noted with serious concern the attempt to spread fallacious misinformation in order to demean his person and other well respected members of the party for pointing out the actions of some individuals whose devious activities beyond the purview of the election committee tainted the outcome of the exercise.
“They are people who, after having manipulated the election outside the committee are desperate to hang on to a supposed victory that they got fraudulently. It’s high time that people’s reputations are not sacrificed just for the simple reason that people are desperate and have decided that the end justifies the means.
“Uba has at no time indicted the committee that conducted the primaries. In fact, what is contained in his petition falls outside the purview of what the committee could have had control over.
“He has the highest respect for the committee led by Gov Shettima. His petition is strictly on the action of the supposed ‘winner’,” the statement read in part.
