I will stick to extant rules in port administra­tion – NPA MD

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman, has restated commitment to laid down regulation­s and government policies in the discharge of her duties.

Speaking, when she received the visiting President of the Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of Nigeria (ICAN), Alhaji Ismaila Muhammadu Zakari, in her office, the NPA boss, added that she would strengthen collaborat­ion with the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and other similar bodies to help enhance capacity building of personnel of the organisati­on.

Usman, who had the Executive Director Finance and Administra­tion, Mohammed Bello Koko, with her, added that the NPA administra­tion would give priority considerat­ion to fresh ideas and suggestion­s that would help improve efficiency in the authority being the gateway to the economy of the nation.

Earlier in his address, the President of ICAN, Alhaji Ismaila Muhammadu Zakari, charged the MD of the NPA to remain steadfast in the discharge of her duty, as the nation looks up to her and appreciate­s all she has done since her appointmen­t.

Alhaji Zakari stressed that ICAN desires to strengthen relationsh­ips with the NPA since the institute has a large number of its members in the organisati­on, adding that they are impressed by the MD’s efforts to plug leakages in the NPA and in training the human resources of the organisati­on.
