- By Taiwo Adeniyi

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) and Holley Metering Limited (Holley Nigeria) have signed a pact to fast track the supply of prepaid meters to customers in its franchise area.

Holly Nigeria’s Vice Chairman, Mr Ifeanyi Okeke, in a statement issued in Abuja said the partnership would strengthen and enlarge meter delivery to electricity customers across Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.

With the pact, Mr Okeke said his firm is bringing in superior metering brand and technology to Nigeria to support the electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) by eliminating losses and at the same time giving customers new positive experience.

He said, “Holley Group’s main target in Nigeria is to partner with relevant government MDAs and the DisCos to provide prepaid meters to the vast unmetered Nigerians through Guaranteed Vendor Financing Scheme between DisCos and their customers.”

Mr Okeke said his firm manufactures STS prepayment meters which are in use at Ibadan and Port Harcourt DisCos since 2015.

The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of PHED, Mr Jean Breton, said the partnership with Holley would make available Three Phase Prepaid Metres to their customers in the South-south.

Breton said the company aimed to establish a robust prepaid metering system in the region and create customer satisfaction that will build trust in the power sector.
