Masari: Be wary of the 'devils' within APC
Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari, yesterday, came down hard on some All Progressives Congress (APC) members who he described as ‘devils’ allegedly bent on sabotaging the present administration.
Some APC chieftains, said to be the loyalists of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State, including Alhaji Baba Dahe Kurfi, Senator M.T Liman, Dr. Usman Bugaje, Hannatu Musawa, among others, had recently met in Kaduna where they formed a group within the party.
It was not clear whether the governor was referring to the crisis the APC in his state or at the national level.
Speaking at a rally, Masari said “these devils are the main looters who have for long specialised on draining the nation’s economy but having been blocked, choose to fight the APC from within.”
Masari, who was short of mentioning names, said President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption must be supported in all ramifications.
“These devils are out to pitch the electorate against the administration,” he alleged.
According to him, “We must all be wary of them, they are greedy persons out to cause confusion for their selfish interests; they want to continue to loot and when there was no way for that, they deviced a means of pitching the electorate against the government,” he said.
Masari said a true and well-meaning Nigerian should be cautious of such men, noting that the APC was out to transform the country from long period of corruption.
“The struggle now is between those who want development for the people and those who want to enrich themselves against the electorate and the principles of the APC,” he said.
He said from next year, human capital development would be given priority because of its importance to national development.
“APC governors are committed to the ideals of the party despite several distractions within their domains. We cannot be distracted from delivering our mandates in line with the party’s manifesto,” he added.
