SMEs, Dangote display wares at Abuja fair
Hundreds of operators of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and big players like Dangote displayed their wares as the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) formally declared open its 12th International Fair in Abuja yesterday.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, formally declared open the fair.
Bello, who was represented at the fair, expressed satisfaction with the level of business development that it facilitated in the past.
The incoming National President of the ACCI, Prince Adetokumbo Kayode, said the fair deliberately promotes made in Nigeria products, including emphasis on non-oil products that have the potential of boosting the economy.
Kayode said the recent recession that Nigeria grappled with was a wakeup call for all stakeholders and businesses to think beyond oil and focus more on agriculture, manufacturing and solid minerals.
Supervising the various stands at the fair, Kayode expressed satisfaction with the level of homemade wares in display.
At the Dangote stand, he said the quality of goods on display was high, adding that the chamber would continue to collaborate with the company.
An exhibitor, who is the Deputy Sales Director, North Central for Dangote Cement, Dim Ikenna, said the company joined the trade fair knowing that business is competition.
Describing business as “war”, Ikenna said attending trade fairs is a good way of matching the business competition and penetrating the market.
