- By Abubakar Sadiq Isah

FCT Minister Muhammad Musa Bello has condoled with the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, over the death of his father, Alhaji Ibrahim Mayaki.

Our reporter learnt that the Ona of Abaji’s father died in the early hours of Sunday at the age of 80.

The minister, represented by the newly appointed coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Agency (STDA), Isyaku Tanko Yamawo, said he was saddened when he received the news of the death of the father of the traditional ruler.

He said, however that death is a natural thing which every human being must taste in life, adding that the only thing left for the Ona and his chiefdom was to continue to pray for the soul of the deceased.

“Death is something that everyone must taste, but whenever there is death, we seem to be in mourning mood. But God who created us takes away anybody’s life any time he so wishes, “he said.

Also speaking, the chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, thanked the minister and APC chieftains for sparing their time to pay their condolences to the traditional ruler.

The Ona of Abaji, commended the minister for identifying with traditional rulers in the FCT.

“I must say that the present minister is somebody that always shows concern to traditional rulers. Whenever anything happens, you will see him or he will send a representative,” he said.
