The group urged government at all levels to begin creating awareness on the negative effects of human trafficking.

The Zonta team expressed their displeasure that slavey was rearing its head in modern day form such as trafficking, saying this was a bad omen for the human race.

They said their position was also that of Zontians worldwide who are all saying no to gender-based violence on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

The campaign, according to Nwuga, is a 16-day plan in working together with the United Nations’ theme for the 2017 International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, ‘Leave no one behind: End violence against women and girls.’
