The Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) has donated laboratory equipment to the School of Environmental Management, Kaduna State University.

The Managing Director, KRPC, Mr. Adewale Ladenegan who handed the items including laboratory chemicals to the university officials, said the company was committed to ensuring that quality graduates were produced by the state university.

Ladenegan said the donation was part of the company’s social responsibility to institutions as well as to the host communities to improve their livelihood.

He said that KASU needed the support of companies like KRPC to efficiently train the young ones by providing them with quality education, especially in the area of environmental protection.

“We have young men and women who are performing creditably well but they lack facilities to enhance their education that is the reason we are giving them some support to enhance their education,” he said, adding that hundreds of students of the university are currently undergoing their mandatory internship training at the company.

Receiving the equipment, KASU’s Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof Ado Ahmed said the items were coming at a critical time when the institution was undergoing accreditation of some of its courses by the National Universities Commission.
