Musdapher did judiciary, nation much good – ACF, Gaidam, Obaseki

The Arewa Consultati­ve Forum (ACF) has expressed sadness over the death of former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Dahiru Musdapher, in a London hospital on Monday.

A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the forum, Muhammad Ibrahim Biu, described the late Justice Musdapher as an eloquent jurist who excelled in the legal profession to its peak as the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

“He was a member of the ACF Board of Patrons and contribute­d immensely by his wise counsel and participat­ion in the forum’s activities,” the forum stated.

The ACF extended its condolence­s to late Justice Musdapher’s family and the government and people of Jigawa State.

In his own condolence message, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State said his thoughts and sympathies were with the family at this time of great loss.

The message which was signed by the DirectorGe­neral of Press to the Governor, Abdullahi Bego, said, “Governor Gaidam recalls the prominent role that Justice Musdapher played in the administra­tion of justice in the country, describing him as a man of honour and integrity whose services have helped made our nation stronger.

“On behalf of the government and people of Yobe State, therefore, His Excellency Governor Gaidam expresses his heartfelt condolence­s to the family of Late Justice Musdapher.”

Also expressing condolence­s over Musdapher’s death, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State said in a statement by his spokespers­on, Crusoe Osagie, that Justice Musdapher would be remembered for his lifelong contributi­ons to the nation’s judiciary.

He said Justice Musdapher’s commitment to hard work saw him rise from practice in the bar to become the Chief justice of Nigeria.

Obaseki urged the family to find comfort in the exemplary life of the late Justice Musdapher.
