Gov Ahmed woos investors as Kwara begins 7th trade fair
Kwara State Governor has expressed readiness to consolidate on gains made in his administration’s effort in transforming Kwara into an investor-friendly state.
Gov. Ahmed said this at the ongoing Seventh Kwara Trade Fair, with the theme: “Development of Small and Medium Enterprises Panacea for the Growth and Development of Nigeria.”
Represented by the State Head of Service, Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole, he said his administration was ready to make the state more viable and conducive for investors.
Gov. Ahmed said, “We are doing everything humanly possible to enhance business growth in the state in order to make it more viable and conducive for investors.
In his speech, President of the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), Dr. Ahmed Raji, noted that Kwara State had steadily moved from being an agrarian cum civil service state to being a bustling commercial and emerging industrial hub; describing this year’s trade fair as a product of positive thinking combined with positive in the chamber’s quest for industrial development in the state.
Raji added that, “The Government of Kwara State is doing tremendously well in trying to facilitate industrialisation of the state.
“The present administration has upped the business environment on the Ease of Doing Business rating. For investors, there are incentives such as tax holiday, ease of land acquisition (with certificate of occupancy) and power supply support scheme.”
Speaking earlier, Chairman of Kwara Trade Fair Committee (KTFC), Mr. Fatai Olalekan Ayodimeji, lauded the state government for its endorsement and assistance towards the success of the 2018 trade fair.
While assuring all exhibitors and participants of adequate security and logistics towards a hitchfree fair, Ayodmeji reiterated KWACCIMA’s determination to complement government with promoting commercial, industrial, mining and agricultural activities in the state.
