Are the youths lazy?

-

The facts tell better. And the best approach here is to compare youths in Nigeria, against youths from other climes. There is a greater shift towards younger leadership in developed nations of the world.

Fact one: FactTwo:

The absence of innovative thinking, and up to date entrepreneurial inclination among Nigerians youth, is embarrassing. Ninety nine per cent of our university research are never commercialised. You rarely see tangible world changing inventions, gadgets and services being offered by Nigerian youths. There seems to be a complete loss of synch between our mental grooming centres and the various economic and social sectors. We are running an illiterate rat race economy. No wonder imported Technical School dropouts are building our infrastructures, at a higher cost and perks. Nigerian youths are too mentally lazy, uncoordinated to act nor demand their right of place.

Fact Three:

We need Buhari and his age mates out of the system? Good. But ask the average Nigerian youth to mention who can effectively replace these great grand dads of Nigerian woes, and you would be so disappointed when same 90-year olds are listed out. Most embarrassing of all, they are too lazy to remember their own name - but they have a PhD, two MSCs and more...

Our youths start the argument with, “we are not lazy, a lot of our youths push wheelbarrows, drive taxis, dig trenches, and sell at shops, hustles 24 /7” .... Is that how we will get Nigeria out of the woods? With menial labour in 2018? With basic prehistoric thinking?

With constituency briefings of over-used Korean minibuses, combs, hand hoes, motorcycle taxis, hair dryers and ancient sewing machines handed out to our young men, manicure sets donated from all the billions of dollars the thieves had allocated to themselves? - is that love? Are you in your senses?

“Oh Mr. X, Y, and Z are good” Of course he is good, he gave youths 1,000 naira after their sun drench march past at political rallies? Is that empowerment? God is watching you all.

Our youths do not readily comprehend the concepts of massive production, exemplified by the Chinese. We still think in BY ME, ON ME, ALL ALONE. They are greedy, susceptible to cheating and cutting corners - be it in examinations, manufacturing and life living. Where else would 90 per cent of youthful minds listen to a Pastor telling them that paying 100 per cent of incomes as tithes is a guarantee of progress?

The Nigerian sad narrative, in consideration.

So guys, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, please drop the Mic, wake up and put your minds to task. Blaming Buhari wouldn’t feed you in 2023...
