Security agencies strategize to end Amassoma crisis
Heads of security agencies in Bayelsa State yesterday resolved to ensure lasting peace in Amassoma community in Southern Ijaw Local government Area of the state.
The resolution followed last week’s unrest occasioned by the protest by non-academic staff of the Niger Delta University.
The heads of security agencies, comprising the Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security Service, Army, Air force and other security agencies, also promised to fight armed robbery, piracy, cultism and kidnapping.
A statement by the Special Adviser to Governor Henry Seriake Dickson on Security Matters, Chief Boma Spero-Jack, said the resolution was reached at the 42nd Security Council at the Government House, Yenagoa.
