Obaseki swears in environment commissioner
Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has sworn-in Omoua Alonge Oni-Okpaku as the Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability in the state. The former commissioner Mr. Reginald Okun was sacked over poor handling of environmental issues and protest by street sweepers.
Obaseki warned Oni-Okpaku to shun acts capable of derailing the progress in the sector.
Responding, Oni-Okpaku promised to live up to the confidence reposed in her.
She said she would engage youths in the protection and preservation of the environment, in line with the state government’s Keep Edo Clean Project and other programmes.
